In the Boy Scout oath, there is a line that states, “To help people at all times.”

Watching Boy Scouts from Lockport Troop 64 and Homer Glen Troop 63 volunteering at a recent Friday Fish Fry, it is evident they live that oath.

“Volunteering tonight feels great,” said Robert Ryan, 12, who lives in Lockport and is a scout with Troop 63 in Homer Glen. “There are veterans here tonight that fought for our freedom; it’s good to give back to them.”
